What photographers to research…?

I have been given a university project titled ‘Transforming the Landscape’.

We have a week to photograph (manipulation optional) four landscapes which convey “some kind of transformation”. The transformation can be physical or digital.

Examples we have been given are,

“propose changes or improvements to your local environment (these could be humorous/aesthetic/political)”

“create new landscapes/subervisions/interventions through photomontage, digital composites techniques or through using different scales and depths of field juxtaposing different objects together.”

“Or you could collect and create landscapes that you can demonstrate to have a clear connection in some way.”

Can anyone suggest photographers to research for inspiration please?

I once did a time lapse of when the fair came to town, started with an empty field, then the lorries turning up, putting up the rides and marquee, mixed with a few shots of the fair itself, then taking it all down and back to an empty field again. As i said it was a time lapse, but I did a montage for the local library.

Or the same scene at different times of day, from being deserted at 2 in the morning through to gridlock in the morning rush, activity during the day and back to gridlock and finally back to deserted again.

quote “Or you could collect and create landscapes that you can demonstrate to have a clear connection in some way.” end quote

How about different views along a river? As it changes from rural to town to industrial etc..
