Photograph the Myth Isis and Osiris??? How should I photograph it?
In my mythology class we have to do a final project. I was thinking of doing a photomontage (basically a form of collage) of the Myth Isis, Osiris and Horus. But Since the myth is kind of long, I was thinking of focusing the montage on the Goddess Isis. BUT, I have no idea how to go about taking pictures of this myth. Any Ideas on how to photograph this myth would be helpful!!
Another thing, I am doing this digitally in Photoshop CS3. I can take a number of different pictures and blend them into one whole picture. I can also, make subjects/objects smaller or larger to fit them in the photo how I want them to. Hope this helps to explain what I can do.
Any Ideas would be great!!
BACKGROUND:
Isis, the Egyptian goddess of rebirth remains one of the most familiar images of empowered and utter femininity. The goddess Isis was the first daughter of Geb, god of the Earth, and Nut, the goddess of the Overarching Sky. Isis was born on the first day between the first years of creation, and was adored by her human followers.
Unlike the other Egyptian goddesses, the goddess Isis spent time among her people, teaching women how to grind corn and make bread, spin flax and weave cloth, and how to tame men enough to live with them (an art form on which many of us would welcome a refresher course!)
Isis taught her people the skills of reading and agriculture and was worshipped as the goddess of medicine and wisdom.
PHOTO SHOOT:
Dress a young women in a red dress like shown in the thired website with a red ribbon around her head. Then show: (1) her birth; (2) her teaching women how to grind corn and make bread; (3) her teaching reading; and (4) supervising a nurse helping an injured person.
Godspeed.
